We are pleased to welcome all of our incoming students to the UD Associate in Arts Program for the fall 2022 semester. New Student Orientation (NSO) is required for all new students to ensure the best experience possible when making the transition from high school to college. NSO introduces you to our program and provides you with the knowledge you need to make the best possible start at UD. NSO for incoming AAP students will be held virtually from June 21–30, 2022. Additional advisement appointments may be added in July.

Be sure to join our Virtual Pre-Advisement Session on Zoom on Thursday, June 16, at 6:00 p.m. Use this link to attend the Pre-Advisement Session: https://udel.zoom.us/j/96259197411.

What to Expect & How to Prepare

AAP NSO activities this summer will be conducted online. These will include:

Academic advising and selection of fall courses

An online orientation course

A checklist of tasks to complete

Live information sessions

All incoming students must complete the online ALEKS Math Placement Exam by June 17, 2022. The exam and instructions for completing it are located at My Blue Hen Home. Students who have not completed the placement exam will have to postpone their advisement and class selection, which may cause significant problems in their scheduling and registration process.

Registering for Your Advisement Session

All incoming freshmen are required to attend an individual advisement session, held via Zoom, to select courses for the fall semester and discuss them with an academic advisor. This advisement session is a crucial step in planning for a successful freshman year. Students who do not meet with an advisor for an assigned advisement appointment will be rescheduled for a later time and cannot be guaranteed their choice of seats in all classes.

Please be sure to check the individual registration dates for your course of study, as many of our programs meet for advisement sessions on different days. There is a registration link for your advisement session in your My Blue Hen Home student portal. Once you have registered, you will receive a confirmation email that includes the Zoom link for your session.

To get the most out of the orientation experience and to receive important information before the start of the fall semester, new students should set up their UD email account as soon as possible. Directions for UDelNet student account setup are available from UD-IT and at My Blue Hen Home.

If you have any questions about NSO 2022, email the AAP advisement team at aap-advise@udel.edu. We look forward to meeting you at NSO 2022!

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |
