In light of rising numbers of COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations around the country, including in Delaware over the past week, the University of Delaware is reinstating its masking requirement for all indoor spaces, effective at 8 a.m., Tuesday, May 24. Please review the latest messaging in this UDaily article.
Please note that this applies to all University indoor spaces, including the Southern Delaware and Wilmington Convocation ceremonies being held on Tuesday, May 24, and Wednesday, May 25, at the Del-One Conference Center in Dover and the Community Education Building in Wilmington. AAP staff will offer complimentary masks to all guests who require one.
To safeguard the health of all attendees, we ask that our graduates and guests please refrain from shaking hands. Students walking across the stage during the ceremony may briefly remove their mask to have their photo taken but must remain 6 feet away from other attendees when doing so.
For detailed Convocation event information, including parking instructions, arrival times, and printable flyers that you can provide to your guests, please see our May 18 communication to graduating AAP students. For event programs and a link to the Wilmington Convocation ceremony livestream, please see our May 23 message.
If you would like more information on the reinstated mask mandate, please see the University's coronavirus FAQ page or consult coronavirus@udel.edu with any questions.
Thank you for helping to keep our grads and guests safe at Convocation 2022!
