    Biography

I am an Old World archaeologist and anthropologist. My research interests are centered on the mechanics of cultural evolution and the origins of food production and the beginnings of settled village life in the Middle East approximately 10,000 years ago. I have conducted site surveys and excavations in Iran (before the revolution) and Turkey (since 1989) that have investigated this important transition, which ultimately made possible the human world as we know it.
