AAP students in class at the UDDC with Dr. Neri de Kramer
The UDDC was once a hub of operations for UD's Professional and Continuing Studies Program, offering evening professional-development courses and customized employee training. As the AAP expanded, however — and continues to expand, with enrollment numbers at an all-time high — the UDDC was dedicated solely to the Associate in Arts Program and now houses approximately half of all Wilmington AAP courses.
AAP student employees at the UDairy Creamery Market in Wilmington
The UDDC's central location allows for meaningful interaction with community organizations and businesses in downtown Wilmington. AAP faculty and students, particularly those enrolled in Wilmington's Leadership 100 courses, have forged ongoing, mutually beneficial partnerships with The Creative Vision Factory, YWCA Delaware's Home-Life Management Center, Public Allies Delaware, and many others.
In 2017, the AAP collaborated with the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources in establishing the UDairy Creamery Market, UDairy's first off-campus storefront location. Situated right around the corner from the UDDC at 815 N. Market Street, the Creamery Market employs AAP students as servers and interns and provides valuable experience in finance, food science and safety, and sustainable business practices.
