Wilmington Convocation held May 25 at Arsht Hall

​​​​​​​​​​​Students, families, administrators, faculty, and staff gathered at Arsht Hall on the evening of Wednesday, May 25, 2016, for the Wilmington Convocation Ceremony. ​Attendees were welcomed by Domenico Grasso, provost of the University, and David Satran, interim dean of the Associate in Arts Program. 

George Watson, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, and Vicki Fedele, faculty coordinator of the Wilmington campus, led the recognition ceremony for graduating students and the awarding of student honors. Other featured speakers at the event included Samantha Spoor, former AAP student and 2015 graduate of UD; and Anne Baretta, president of the UD Alumni Association. Students and other attendees were honored at a reception following the event. Professional photos of the ceremony are available for purchase from GradIma​ges​.

Student Awards and Honors

The Associate in Arts Transitioning Students Fund, which is funded by an annual contribution from David W. Curtis and Donna Eaton Curtis, provides necessary support to AAP students seeking to continue their studies at the University of Delaware. 2016 Recipients of the Associate in Arts Transitioning Students Scholarship:

Southern Delaware Convocation held May 26 at Heritage Shores

The Southern Delaware Convocation Ceremony, honoring graduating students of the Dover and Georgetown campuses, was ​​​​​​held at the Heritage Shores Club in Bridgeville, Del., on the evening of Thursday, May 26, 2016. 

University Provost Domenico Grasso and Associate Director ​and Faculty Coordinator Richard Bacon welcomed attendees and gave the opening remarks. George Watson, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, and Carol Vukelich, interim dean of the College of Education and Human Development, led the annual recognition of graduating students. Other featured Convocation speakers included David Satran, interim director of the AAP; Scott Lykens, director of the AAP Elementary Teacher Education (ETE) Program; Anna Giacoma Barretta, president of the UD Alumni Association; and Jeffrey Fried, president and CEO of Beebe Healthcare.
