Colin Miller is Director for Global Arts at the College of Arts & Sciences and is responsible for the Art Bridging Cultures and Artist in Residency programs. He teaches the Popular Music of the Global South and Passport to the Arts courses. Additionally, he holds a joint appointment at the Institute for Global Studies, where is administrative director for the Mandela Washington Fellowship program.

Prior to his appointment at UD, Miller was deputy director for Pro Helvetia, the Swiss Arts Council Liaison office for Southern Africa, based in Johannesburg. Here he was tasked with facilitating collaboration between artists in the Southern African region and supporting cultural advocacy initiatives in Mozambique, Zimbabwe, and South Africa. He served as the arts and culture adviser to the Swiss Agency for Development & Cooperation (SDC) in Pretoria and played a key role in identifying projects that promoted the developmental goals of SDC.

Miller graduated from the University of Cape Town with a diploma in Jazz Studies and degree in Ethnomusicology. His instrument of choice is guitar and he is versatile in a wide range of popular music and jazz styles.
